North Korea has detained a fourth American as the hostile nation continues to provoke the United States.
Kim Hak-song is a naturalized U.S. citizen who teaches at Pyongyang University of Science and Technology. He is the second American professor at that school to be detained by Kim Jong Un’s henchmen.
Kim was doing agricultural work to help improve Korean farms. He wants to help Korea become self-sufficient with farming, but apparently North Korea takes that to mean he is a spy.
More information about his detention and the plight of three other Americans is in the video below.
The State Department is aware of North Korea’s detention of another American citizen. “When a US citizen is reported to be detained in North Korea, we work with the Swedish Embassy in Pyongyang, which serves as the United States’ Protecting Power in North Korea,” a state department official said. “Due to privacy considerations, we have no further comment.”
Tension between our countries continues to rise and North Korea does not appear to be a safe place for Americans to be at the moment.
