Good news came from Roderick Strong and his fiance Marina Shafir on Monday night! The couple announced the birth of their son, Troy Veniamin Lindsey. Troy came into the world on April 24th at 8:36 pm, a healthy baby boy weighing 7lb and measuring 20 inches.
Who Is Roderick Strong?
If you don’t follow NXT or the indie wrestling scene, it’s certainly time to get familiar with Roderick Strong. Roderick has a flourishing career ahead of him. Most people don’t realize that Roderick has been on the indie scene for many years. So, if you are not familiar with this charismatic wrestler, let us introduce you to him!
ROH Career
Those who follow ROH are familiar with Roderick Strong already because he had a 13-year tenure with this wrestling promotion. During his time at Ring of Honor, he obtained numerous titles; this includes the World Championship (1), World Television Championship (2) and World Tag Team Championship (1 – tag partner Austin Aries). Roderick Strong is also the second ROH Triple Crown Champion.
Wrestling Moves
Opposed to some other superstars on the main roster, Roderick Strong has quite many wrestling moves in his arsenal. Aside from his many single wrestling moves, he also has a good diversity in his double-team move arsenal. His tendency to use various backbraker various has lead to his nickname “The Messiah Of the Backbreaker.”
The best-known movie of Roderick Strong is the Death By Roderick. The move is a Fireman’s carry double-knee gutbuster and considered as his main finishing move. Aside from Death By Roderick.
Strong also has a number of signature moves, including the Backhand Chop, Discus Elbow Smash, Double Underhook Suplex, and a sick Dropkick.
Personal Life
Little is known about Roderick Strong’s personal life until he met Marina Shafir – a mixed martial artist who fought at the MMA. She is originally from the republic of Moldova and is classed as a featherweight weighing 145 lbs. Shafir is also known to be good friends with everyone’s favorite female UFC champion Ronda Rousey.
Roderick Strong and Marina Shafir got engaged in December of 2015. The couple is not yet married and announced that they were expecting a child together in October 2016. We couldn’t be more delighted with the wonderful news that the two are now parents!
