Nature is not kind. It can be downright cruel when you’re at the bottom of the food chain. When someone is hungry, the most vulnerable are easy targets.
People on a safari in South Africa witnessed this when a herd of buffalo were stampeding to escape a pride of lions. A baby calf is lost in the hustle. It is quickly found by a lioness right in front of the sightseers.
The video below shows the reality of life in the wild. The poor calf was a sitting duck in that situation. When a lion’s got to eat, a lion’s got to eat.
It’s a tough world out there. Sometimes you’re the bug and sometimes you’re the windshield -or in this case sometimes you’re the meal.
