It was on this day in 2013 when Chris Kyle was murdered. Kyle and his friend, Chad Littlefield, 35, were shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh at the Rough Creek Ranch-Lodge-Resort shooting range in Erath County, Texas.

Kyle, a United States Navy SEAL was considered one of the deadliest snipers of all time credited with 150 kills.

Two years after his death, the state of Texas declared February 2nd as ‘Chris Kyle Day’ as part of an effort to see that he was awarded the Medal of Honor. Unfortunately, with Barack Obama in the White House, it didn’t happen.

Maybe with President Donald Trump it will happen. We can only hope.

Here’s a local news report on the founding of “Chris Kyle Day.”

Since his death, Chris’s wife Taya posted this amazing tribute to her husband in 2016, and Donald Trump tapped Ryan Zinke, another Navy SEAL who trained Kyle, to be part of his cabinet as his Interior Department Secretary.

TMN also posted this tribute to Kyle last year that is also worth looking at.

Please share this with others. One of the things we need to remember as proud Americans are our fallen heroes. The ones who did so much and were taken too soon. Chris Kyle was one of those people. He was a true American hero.
