We’ve lost a lot legends.

I guess that just happens as time moves on, but it still hurts just the same.

For me, one of my personal heroes and music idols was the great Johnny Cash. He and the rest of the “outlaws” made country music something for everyone. With a little dirt, anger, sadness, and booze they were able to revolutionize music with their outlaw sound. Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr and the great Willie Nelson were all great “outlaws” but on stage and off.

Of course Kristofferson and Willie were members of “The Highwaymen” with Johnny and Waylon.

The four created “outlaw” country and set the benchmark for all rebellious spirits that have continued to push the boundaries of country music.

When Johnny left us, Willie and Kris joined fellow “outlaw” George Jones for a tribute.

We miss you Johnny and George.

Glad Willie and Kris are still around. We still need a few “outlaws” to keep the music industry honest!
