There’s a lot of garbage on YouTube.

I would say that 98% of the millions of videos on YouTube are worthless and don’t need to be watched.

However, there is one category that is always cool and never garbage: videos of people taking objects apart or just flat-out breaking them.

One channel that really satisfies that most basic human need for destruction is “What’s Inside?”

“What’s Inside?” is a father and son team, Lincoln and Daniel Markham. Their appetite for destruction and discovery has earned them over 4 million subscribers to their channel.

These oddly satisfying videos take apart everything. From arcade games, microscopes, blenders, hornets’ nests (pictured above), even the trophy YouTube gave the Markhams for hitting a subscriber milestone.

These videos really satisfy my desire to see how things work.

I also love watching objects break. And occasionally, I like to do the breaking.
