Americans are being warned about a scam that’s pretty easy to fall for as it’s very simple. This is important information we all should hear.
There is a new scam where people answer their phones and are asked, “Can you hear me?” The scammers want to get a verbal recording of you saying “yes” so they can authorize unwanted charges on your phone bill.
After getting a recording of you saying “yes,” the fraudsters can use that to attempt to justify billing you.
The video below details more information about the scam and has some tips on how to handle it.
Do not give any personal information over the phone or verify your phone number as scammers can use both against you. Also, it’s a good idea to put your phone numbers on the Do Not Call Registry.
