Apple products may soon be made in the USA according to a report from the Nikkei Asian Review.

Hon Hai Precision Industry, also known as Foxconn Technology Group, is an iPhone and Apple assembler and is looking into moving production to the United States.

In March, during his Super Tuesday victory speech, Donald Trump told America that, “I’m going to get Apple to start making their computers and their iPhones on our land, not in China. How does it help us when they make it in China?”

A source told Nikkei that, “Apple asked both Foxconn and Pegatron, the two iPhone assemblers, in June to look into making iPhones in the U.S.” The source continued, “Foxconn complied, while Pegatron decline[d] to formulate such a plan due to cost concerns.”

Sharp President Tai Jeng-wu, the right hand man to Foxxconn’s Gou, noted that he will do what his customer demands.

“We are now building a new [advanced organic light-emitting diode] facility in Japan. We can make [OLED panels] in the U.S. too,” he said. “If our key customer demands us to manufacture in the U.S., is it possible for us not to do so?”

Foxconn currently employs around 690,000 workers in China. That is close to the entire population of Detroit.

And in 2012, they employed close to 1.3 million.

Bringing these jobs back to America will be a boon for our economy!
