Jay Leno’s Very First Appearance on The Tonight Show! You’ll Hardly Recognize Him!

Jay Leno had big shoes to fill when he became the host of The Tonight Show. Johnny Carson was a tough act to follow.

Many years before he took his spot at the Tonight Show desk, he had his first appearance on the show as a young stand up comedian. It’s funny to watch Johnny introduce him for the first time. Since this was 1977, his hairstyle is pretty different too.

His comedic style changed over the years, but Leno remained a classic comedian. He wasn’t crass at all. He kept it clean and I always appreciated that!
