Summer brings bees and they are often seen as a nuisance if they are interrupting your cookout, but these little buggers are pretty fascinating.

Bees are a lot more complex than we thought. The hairs on the insects can detect the electric fields of flowers, according to a study from the University of Bristol.

Researches put 30 volts of electricity on certain flowers. The bees learned how to determine which flowers those were. And when scientists turned down the voltage, the bees reacted accordingly.

When they approach something with an electric field, the hairs on their bodies bend. As you can see in the video below, this helps them determine which flowers still need to be pollinated.
