Taco Bell is upping it’s game and possibly turning fast Mexican food on its head. It has created a taco shell made of fried chicken. They are calling it the Naked Crispy Chicken Taco.
The Naked Crispy Chicken Taco is Taco Bell’s response to KFC’s Double Down, a sandwich using friend chicken fillets for buns. The shells are 5.5 inches and weigh about 4 ounces. They arrive at Taco Bell restaurants seasoned and breaded. They are then fried into the taco shape using Taco Bell’s unique contraption that has also been used to create their waffle taco:
This new fried chicken taco shell is then stuffed with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and avocado ranch sauce.
The fast food giant tested the product in Bakersfield, California. When it performed well, they rolled it out to Kansas City. The response has been terrific as you can see in the video below.
