Fruita Monument High School got served a big dose of Americana when it banned flags in the parking lot, including the US flag. The Colorado high school instituted the ban when senior Colt Chatfield had a confederate flag in the parking lot. In this Obama era, school administrators found it offensive and took it upon themselves to police the parking lot for flags.

But, students pushed back and the parking lot was flooded with American flags in reaction to this ban. Chatfield said he was threatened with not walking in his commencement ceremony, but the public support for the flag was so strong that the school dropped the ban.

Actually, the backlash against the ban was so strong that the school now not only tolerates the American flag being in the parking lot, but they praise it. Check out how the school tries to spin its way out of this original awful decision in the video below.

Now those students were raised right! Today we hear of young men and women who aren’t proud to be Americans. These kids really are. And the school administrators can learn from their civil disobedience.

This isn’t the only story like this we have heard about this year. A South Carolina high school wouldn’t allow a student to have the Stars and Stripes on his truck, so the students fought back in a similar manner.

Please share this if you are proud of these students! Stories like this should dominate the news!
