french teacher, teacher's union

The liberal teachers’ unions will tell you that our public schools are failing because they’ve been starved of money by callous politicians.

But perhaps there’s another, simpler answer: some of these well-paid teachers can’t do the job we taxpayers pay them to do.

If you want proof, take a look at Houston Independent School District’s Energy Institute High School, where teacher Albert Moyer is being paid by the likes of you and me to teach our kids French.

There’s only one problem: he doesn’t speak French.

Apparently, authorities suspended Moyer’s predecessor, Jean Cius, for unspecified reasons, and could not find a replacement who knew the language they were supposed to be teaching.

Instead, they picked Moyer, who by his own admission, knows only one French word: Bonjour.

School Bureaucrats are promising they’ll find a qualified teacher shortly, but in the meantime, public school kids are missing out on education the teachers’ unions tell us they deserve.
