Monifa Sterling

Marine Lance Corporal Monifa Sterling was court martialed for displaying a bible verse on her desk. Her staff sergeant demanded that she remove it. When Sterling refused, she was dismissed. This is outrageous!

The US Government asks those serving in our military to put their lives on the line, but that same government doesn’t believe those same people have a right to express their religious beliefs.

The verse in question was from the 54th chapter of Isaiah, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” That earned her a court martial!

Sterling has appealed this. A lower court decided against her, but now the highest military court in the US will be weighing in. The US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces heard oral arguments to determine whether the Marine was discriminated against because of her religion when she was reduced in rank, court martialed, and given a dishonorable discharge.

This case could have long-lasting impact on the religious liberty of our soldiers.

If you agree that military should be able to express their religious beliefs, please share this article!
