The Air Force just set a new world record for the fastest rocket in the world and they released dramatic footage of the launch to prove it!

On March 4, US Maglev rockets propelled a sled at 633 mph! The previous world record for this type of rocket was held by the Japanese with a speed of 366 mph and the USAF completely smashed that!

MagLev is short for magnetic levitation. It moves vehicles without touching the ground. According to Liveleak, a vehicle travels along a guideway using magnets to create both lift and propulsion, thereby reducing friction a great extent and allowing very high speeds.

It’s great to see the US breaking military records. Please share this if you would like the record breaking to continue!
