Country legend Glen Campbell recorded his last song in 2013. “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” describes his battle with Alzheimer’s and how he won’t miss anyone because he won’t be able to remember them. Glen was never able to perform the song live since he was so ill.

Glen’s son Shannon decided to honor his father by performing the song live in the attic of the Rhinestone Cowboy’s home. The song is an emotional one. It even touches on Glen not being able to remember Shannon.

The Campbells wanted to inform people about Alzheimer’s and how Glen was battling it, so a couple years ago, they released a documentary “I’ll Be Me” that went inside their experiences with the disease and how music was helping Glen.

Music helped ease Glen’s battle with Alzheimer’s but as you can tell by Shannon’s performance, Glen is in the final stages of the disease. Fortunately for us, we will always have his music.

What is your favorite Glen Campbell song?
