Naval authorities at the joint reserve base in Fort Worth, Texas have told the press that the base is currently on lockdown after a suspicious package was found.

According to The Political Insider, the package was found a few hours ago and emergency crews immediately rushed to the scene. Naval Security Forces, including the 301 st Fighter Wing Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and a Disposal team, responded to the incident.

“Out of abundance of caution, the installation’s main gate will remain closed until further notice,” the base said. “The closure is for the safety of installation personnel and the surrounding local community, which is the Navy’s primary concern.”
