Pat Sajak and Vanna White have been hosting the beloved game show “Wheel of Fortune” together since 1982, and forty years later, they are still going strong. Like all things, however, their partnership on “Wheel of Fortune” has to come to an end eventually, but this is not something that White wants to think about anytime soon.

‘That’s Depressing’
“I don’t even want to think about that. I mean, we’re a team,” White told People Magazine when asked when she and Sajak might exit the show. “That’s depressing. I don’t even want to think about it.”
White, 65, went on to say that she can’t even picture what “Wheel of Fortune” would look like without her and the 76 year-old Sajak.
“I just visualize us just being there. I can’t think beyond that,” she explained. “I can’t imagine. Everybody relates ‘Wheel of Fortune’ to Pat and Vanna. We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know? We’ve been in everybody’s homes for 40 years, so it would be weird having somebody else turn my letters.”

‘Brother And Sister Team’
White also talked about the bond that she’s shared with Sajak from the very beginning of their partnership.
“I think when Merv Griffin chose both of us, 40 and 41 years ago, he saw something between us — a brother-sister type relationship,” White said. “And I think that is kind of what it is. He saw that we would be able to get along, and we do. We are like a brother and sister team.”
Griffin is of course the creator of “Wheel of Fortune” who sadly died back in 2007 at the age of 82.
In the end, White is just grateful that she’s had a job she loves as much as “Wheel Of Fortune” for forty years.
“It’s incredible. I cannot believe it’s been 40 years. Honestly, I’ve loved every minute of it,” she said. “Who still says they love their job after 40 years? Me! I really do. It’s a fun show. Everybody watches and enjoys it and it changes people’s lives and it makes people happy. So it’s a great job.”

‘Closer To The End Than The Beginning’
This comes one year after Sajak opened up about the potential end of “Wheel Of Fortune.”
“We’re certainly closer to the end than the beginning,” Sajak admitted to Entertainment Tonight. “I’d like to leave before people tune in and look at me and say, ‘Ooh, what happened to him?’ I wouldn’t bet on seeing us in, like, 10 years, I would say.”
“Is that fair [to say]?” he asked White, to which she replied, “Probably, yes.”
Pat Sajak and Vanna White have co-hosted Wheel of Fortune for 38 years and for 38 years, Pat has made a little joke as he and Vanna go their separate ways.

After Sajak said that it’s “unfathomable” to think that they’ve been hosting “Wheel Of Fortune” for so long, White said that they have become a family.
“We’ve been together for like 38 years and he’s like my brother,” she explained. “He’s funny. I mean, we could finish each other’s sentences if we wanted to. We know each other that well.”
While Sajak and White’s partnership on “Wheel Of Fortune” will have to end at some point, their fans will be happy to learn that they’ve renewed their contracts through at least the 2023-2024 season, according to Fox News. That means we all have plenty of games of “Wheel Of Fortune” to look forward to with them both in the future!
