The trailer for the second – and final! – season of the Yellowstone prequel 1923 is officially out, and boy it looks good.
1923 Season Two
1923 stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, and it follows the Dutton family in the year (you guessed it) 1923. In the drama, the Dutton family experiences things like Prohibition, drought, and the early stages of what would soon become the Great Depression.
In the second season of 1923, an especially bad winter will play a huge role on the Dutton family ranch.
“With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana,” reads the tagline for the show’s second season. “Meanwhile, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.”
Other stars of 1923 include Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, Timothy Dalton, and Jennifer Carpenter. The show is executive-produced by Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Ben Richardson, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox.
The second and final season of 1923 will drop on Paramount+ on February 23. Check out a trailer for the season below!

Ford And Mirren Speak Out
Both Ford, 82, and Mirren, 79, have greatly enjoyed working on 1923. In fact, Mirren previously said that she joined the show because “Harrison was involved. That immediately raised the stakes enormously high. I already knew that Taylor Sheridan was obviously the creator. That was a hugely important element in the process because of his track record.”
“I agreed to do it without reading any scripts,” Mirren previously told The Wrap. “No scripts were available to read. I had no idea really. I mean, obviously I had an outline of the story. It’s this couple, living on a ranch, and their struggles. That was as much as I knew. But I didn’t read any scripts. And I signed on without really knowing what I was getting into but with great excitement.”
Ironically, in Ford’s mind, he signed on to do 1923 because of Mirren’s involvement! And really, who can blame him?
“I thought I signed on because she had already signed on,” he admitted to The Wrap in an interview of his own. “Our memories are a little different, but I thought she was locked in, and that was one of the attractions for me. And then to be part of this very ambitious universe that Taylor is creating seemed to me a great time to dip my foot into this new way of working.”

Ford Is ‘Not A Real Cowboy’ But Sort Of
While other 1923 stars went to “cowboy camp” to learn more about their roles, Ford didn’t feel the need to.
“I’m not a real cowboy. But I’ve had horses for many years and I’ve lived in Wyoming, where I keep horses. I am familiar,” he explained. “I’ve joined neighbors on cattle drives and brandings and I know a bit about the life. The life now is a bit easier than it was in 1923. There’s been a lot of innovation and technology that has made ranching somewhat easier, but it’s still a tough, dirty job.”
Watch Ford talk more about this in the video below.
