A Wheel of Fortune contestant is going viral for all the wrong reasons after giving what many are dubbing the “worst” answer ever.
And after many decades, that’s a pretty strong claim!
Embarrassing Viral Moment On Wheel Of Fortune
Contestant Will Jordan from Wethersfield, Connecticut was one of three former service members who competed on Monday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune in honor of Veterans Day. After starting the game strong, Jordan managed to solve the bulk of the word puzzle. He was eventually left with “_ _ _ E _ OURSE _ F A ROUN_ OF A _ _ _ AUSE.”
Here was his answer. Get ready for it:
“Treat yourself a round of sausage,” the veteran police officer guessed. What?
Unsurprisingly, this was not correct.
“I’m sorry. That’s not it,” host Ryan Seacrest told Jordan.
Air Force veteran Kitina Thomas, who was the next contestant, proceeded to immediately solve the puzzle.
“Give yourself a round of applause,” she said, with Seacrest informing her that this was correct.
“Although, Will, I kind of liked yours better,” Seacrest, 49, told Jordan with a laugh. “That sounds better than just clapping right now.”

The above clip immediately went viral, with one fan dubbing it the “single worst, but best wheel performance I’ve ever seen. lmfao. love this dude.”
“I never laughed so hard, hysterical,” a second fan commented. A third person wrote, “This was painful.”
“Awww he’s a good sport about it,” another fan commented. “It’s a lot easier to solve on your couch than it is under the lights and in front of the cameras!”

Jordan Addresses Viral Moment
Jordan, who is a police officer, ended up coming in third with $8,000, while Thomas came in second with $10,500. Meanwhile, Army Reserves veteran Chantel Toran won the game with $13,000. Afterwards, Jordan opened up to the Wheel of Fortune social media correspondent Maggie Sajak about his mistake.
“I tell you, when the lights are on and the stars, Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White, I just went blank,” he admitted. “If your dad, in retirement, is watching the show, maybe cracks a beer and has a laugh, it’ll be worth it.”
This was a reference to Maggie’s father Pat Sajak, who retired earlier this year after hosting Wheel of Fortune for 43 years.
“I’m sure I’m gonna have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back, so we’ll try to have some fun with it,” Jordan added.
Maggie attempted to give Jordan a pep talk, saying, “Don’t worry about it, Will. Even if they put sausages in your locker room now.”
Jordan Still Had Fun
Despite his mistake, Jordan still had a good time on Wheel of Fortune.
“It’s hectic, there’s a lot going on, there are producers and cameras and a mic guy, it’s overwhelming to be honest with you,” Jordan told WTNH. “Everyone was super nice, they treated us for veterans very good, and we had a good time.”
Jordan also said that it was his son Shawn who got him to apply for the show.
“He filled out the application, [and] five months later we were in Ireland celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and we got the call, and we all went out to California,” Jordan explained. “I told him [Shawn] if I got on the show, he’s gotta come with me.”

It’s nice to see that Jordan can laugh at his own embarrassing viral moment. Here’s hoping the guys at the police station aren’t ribbing him too hard today!
