When you think of dangerous professions, you usually think of things like police officer or construction work. Maybe you should start thinking “game show host”!
Case in point: Ryan Seacrest was completely wiped out on Wheel of Fortune this week by a contestant who got a little too excited!
Seacrest Falls To The Ground
Daniel is a contestant from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who was overcome with excitement after winning an intense bonus round. Once he was told that the category was “Living Things,” Daniel chose the letters H, G, D and O.
This unfortunately only left Daniel with a puzzle that read G _ _ _ _ E S. Viewers thought it would be impossible for Daniel to figure out the answer based on so few letters. That’s why it came as a shock when he correctly guessed “Guppies.”
Daniel couldn’t believe that he’d actually done it. Indeed, he was so excited that he gave Seacrest a hug that was so intense that it knocked the seasoned game show host to the ground!
As Seacrest struggled to recover on the floor, Daniel kept asking if he was okay.
“I’m good, I’m good,” Seacrest assured him as he made his way to his feet.
Seacrest Gets Up
The Wheel of Fortune announcer chimed in to say, “Daniel, easy on our host, but celebrate with $40,000,” letting Daniel know his prize.
Seacrest held his back, seemingly in pain as he moved away from Daniel.
“Did I make you fall?” Daniel asked him.
Seacrest then hid behind the mini-wheel as he told Daniel that his total winnings for the night was $71,950.
Thankfully, Seacrest and Daniel hugged it out, only more gently this time!
“Vanna, you have to take over, but how did you do that in the last second?” Seacrest exclaimed as he jokingly winced in pain.
“Push you over or solve the puzzle?” Daniel questioned as he apologized.
“No, don’t worry, I loved it,” Seacrest concluded.
When sharing the video to social media, Wheel of Fortune shared an intro clip of Seacrest standing with his co-host Vanna White.
“Pick me up, Throw me over, tackle me, I’m totally fine with it!” Seacrest joked.

“Ok I really haven’t been able to understand this game the last couple bonus round solves that contestants have been solving with VERY FEW letters this season, the solves have been INSANE,” a third fan commented.
Seacrest Replaces Sajak
Seacrest, 50, has been hosting Wheel of Fortune ever since September. It was then that he took over for Pat Sajak, who retired in June after hosting Wheel of Fortune for 43 years.
“Pat, congratulations on an incredible run with Wheel of Fortune!” Seacrest wrote on social media after Sajak’s retirement. “Your dedication, charm, and wit have made the show a beloved part of American television for decades.”
“Your partnership with Vanna has been nothing short of iconic, and together, you’ve created countless wonderful memories for viewers,” he continued. “You’ve set the standard for hosts everywhere, and this marks the end of an era. Best wishes for all your future endeavors!”
We’re glad to see that Seacrest seems to be having so much fun on Wheel of Fortune. Here’s hoping he didn’t end up with any major bruises from this fall!
