The former Disney Channel star Skai Jackson was arrested last week for domestic battery after a public fight with her boyfriend.

Jackson Arrested For Domestic Battery

A rep for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Jackson’s arrest to Page Six. Jackson, 22, was at the Universal CityWalk in Hollywood, California on August 9 when security noticed she and her boyfriend fighting. After seeing Jackson push her boyfriend multiple times, security decided to call the police.

When police arrived and reviewed the security footage, they witnessed Jackson push her boyfriend twice. They then arrested her for misdemeanor domestic battery. Jackson was taken into custody and released hours later. The LA County District Attorney’s Office will now review the case to see if any charges are warranted.

Sources have since told TMZ that Jackson and her boyfriend each denied that they got physical. Jackson even went so far as to claim that they are engaged and expecting a baby. Few details are available about Jackson’s boyfriend, as she has chosen to keep him off social media.

Jackson’s History

Jackson is best known for playing Zuri Ross on the Disney Channel television show Jessie from 2011 to 2015. She then reprised the role on the spinoff Bunk’d from 2015 to 2018. Jackson later voiced Glory Grant in the Marvel Rising animated franchise. Last year, she starred in the film Sheroes alongside Isabelle Fuhrman and Sasha Luss.

Jackson also competed on season 29 of the ABC reality TV show Dancing With The Stars back in 2020. After competing with her professional partner Alan Bersten, she finished in fifth place.

Earlier this year, Jackson lamented that she doesn’t get to see her former Jessie co-stars very often.

“I feel like we’re all living different types of lives,” she told E! News back in April. “A lot of us don’t even live in the same state so it’s hard to see each other. But they’re doing so many amazing, great things that I’m really proud of them. We definitely check up on each other.”

Jackson Loved Being A Child Star

Jackson went on to say that unlike many former child stars, her experience working in entertainment in her youth was a positive one.

“For me, I had a great experience,” she said. “I got to learn a lot being in the industry at a young age, being able to have opportunities I feel like probably the average kid wouldn’t be able to. My mom, she’s always kept me humble. All my friends always keep me humble and that’s really important. I feel like when you have that great support system, you cannot go wrong.”

Jackson is just the latest in a long line of Disney Channel stars who has found herself in trouble with the law. The former That’s So Raven star Orlando Brown has been jailed several times on charges including domestic violence and burglaries. Last year, the former Hannah Montana star Mitchell Musso was also arrested for public intoxication and theft in Texas.

Jackson herself has yet to publicly speak out on her arrest.
