The cast of the iconic series Baywatch, which ran from 1989 until 1999, is speaking out to reveal the downside of starring on the iconic television show.
New Baywatch Docuseries
A four-part docuseries about Baywatch is set to drop on Hulu later this month. The first trailer for After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun dropped earlier this week. Many are surprised by what the cast had to say so far in the promos.
The docuseries features interviews with Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, Bill Warlock, Gregory Alan Williams, David Chokachi, Alexandra Paul, and more former Baywatch cast members.
The docuseries is described as “a nostalgic and insightful exploration of Baywatch, the cultural phenomenon that defined an era, and an unprecedented look into the stars who brought the world’s most famous lifeguards to life.”
“Through dozens of new cast interviews and never-before-seen footage, this docuseries unpacks how the show captured the mythology of California’s beach culture, set physical beauty standards for an entire generation, and capitalized on the adage ‘sex sells,'” the docuseries’ official logline adds.

‘Everybody Was Disposable’
It may have appeared to be all fun and games on this lifeguard television show. However, starring on it may have not been all that it was cracked up to be.
“They just wanted to put you under a microscope and see where your flaws are,” said Chokachi, 56, who played Cody Madison.
“Everybody was disposable. And if you didn’t fit into their brand, you were gone,” added Warlock, 63, who portrayed Eddie Kramer.
Williams, 68, played Garner Ellerbee on Baywatch. When asked about the role, he said that it “empowered me. Every now and then it hurt me.”
“But so do the people and the things we love,” Williams continued. He then became emotional before telling docuseries producers that he needed “to take a break.”
Electra, 52, also appeared in the trailer to talk about being dubbed a “bombshell” because of her time on the Baywatch.
“It was a wild time and I was a wild chick,” she admitted.

Pamela Anderson ‘Came To Get The American Dream’
Pamela Anderson, who is arguably the most famous Baywatch alum, is described in the trailer as “an icon” and “a sweet girl from Canada who came to get the American dream.”
“I’m really proud of everything I’ve done — almost,” Anderson, 57, could be seen saying in an interview that has never been aired before.

It’s unclear if Anderson, who played CJ Parker on Baywatch, directly took part in this docuseries. However, the show’s logline references this never-bef0re-seen interview with her.
“The series also unveils a never-aired interview with Pamela Anderson and over a decade’s worth of never-before-seen home videos shot by the cast themselves,” it states. “These candid and intimate clips offer viewers a unique glimpse into the real dynamics, struggles, friendships and moments that happened off-camera. The series also explores the show’s impact on pop culture and its enduring legacy.”
It’s also unclear if David Hasselhoff, who played Mitch Buchannon on the show, had any role in this docuseries.
Baywatch originally ran from 1989 to 1999. The show was then rebooted as Baywatch: Hawaii with most of the cast being overhauled. This show only ran from 1999 until 2001.
After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun premieres on Hulu on August 28. If you’re a Baywatch fan, be sure to check it out!
