We previously reported that the former American Pickers star Frank Fritz now requires long-term nursing care two years after suffering from a stroke. That hasn’t stopped fans from itching for more, though.

Now, American Pickers star Mike Wolfe is speaking out to offer fans some good news about the show!

American Pickers Returns

Wolfe, 60, took to Instagram to reveal that new American Pickers episodes are coming in October.

He shared this in a typically casual way when a fan commented that they missed American Pickers, as the show has been on a brief hiatus. Wolfe replied to the comment by saying, “New ones starting in October.”

American Pickers is a reality television show that has been airing on The History Channel since 2010. The program follows Wolfe and his team as they travel all over America hunting for valuable antiques and hidden treasures in dusty barns, attics, and garages.

The show has become beloved because of its unique blend of history, nostalgia, and the thrill of the hunt. American Pickers is also educational, as many of the valuables that are found have a historic significance that is thoroughly explained.

Wolfe Praises American Pickers Team

Wolfe announced last month that he and his team had signed a contract to film a brand new season of American Pickers. At the time, he said that working on the show with this team has been “one of the greatest experiences” of his life.

“I know everyone says they have the best crew, but in this business how many can say they have worked side by side with most for over a decade,” he said. “Some of the people in this shot have been with me going on 16 years now and a lot for over 10 years.”

“Living and working side by side with them has been one of the greatest experiences of my life,” Wolfe added.

Fritz’s Friends Shoot Down Death Rumors

Sadly, Fritz, 58, has not been on the show since before his stroke. It’s unlikely that he will be appearing on it again anytime soon. This news comes one week after a friend of Fritz’s had to take to his Facebook page to shoot down rumors that he had died.

“Last night he was gobbling down a fudge ice cream so again he is not dead,” the friend wrote. “The rumors are still out there but we have been dealing with this a lot over the last two years. These rumors seem to be a little stronger than most in the past.”

The friend went on to say that they would announce such terrible news on his social media page if he were to pass away.

“If Frank was to die as his friends, we would like to have a little time to inform all his very best friends which is a lot,” she continued. “And then you will read it on this page also from our local newspaper called Quad City Times.”

“I assure the time between his death and my announcement will be brief,” she concluded. “It is important to me that his close friends come first than his beloved fans and our local people that have supported him from day one.”

Another source close to Fritz confirmed that he is still alive.

“It’s all a bunch of bull. Don’t know where it came from,” this insider said. “Frank has been good, been eating ice cream and watching the Olympics.”

We will continue to pray for Fritz’s recovery. We also can’t wait to see the next season of American Pickers when the show returns!
