It’s been one year since country music star Blake Shelton left The Voice after being a coach on the show from the time it premiered back in 2011. Now, he has finally revealed his next move for curious fans.

Shelton Announces His Next Move

Shelton, 48, has announced that he is tackling his first Las Vegas residency, Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2025! The run of shows will go from February 5 until February 15, and tickets will go on sale on August 16 at blakeshelton.com.

Shelton is pumped up about the opportunity.

“It’s been swirling for years now, and ever since the idea was first floated about opening an Ole Red in Las Vegas, this conversation has been happening too,” Shelton told People Magazine.

“If you’re going to have a stake in Las Vegas, you got to do a residency also if you’re an artist,” he added. “I’ve just been kicking the can down the road because I wanted the Ole Red to be open before I did it.”

Shelton has been known to pop into his own music bars for impromptu performances from time to time. He went on to say that “while I’m there doing the residency I may end up over at Ole Red jumping on that stage one night.”

Shelton Inspired By Garth Brooks

Shelton’s close friend Garth Brooks, 62, has also had a successful Las Vegas residency. His shows partly inspired Shelton to try his hand at the same thing.

“He played songs that he grew up loving and made him fall in love with music,” Shelton recalled. “I don’t want to just rip somebody off, but I do love the idea of doing something that you wouldn’t normally get to see out on tour.”

“So I got to figure out what that is, and now I’m going to start thinking about how it would be different than something I would do on tour,” he continued.

That being said, Shelton wants his fans to know that they will be hearing his number one hits.

“I never want people to leave my shows going, ‘[…] man, he didn’t do ‘Austin,’ or I wanted to hear ‘God’s Country,'” he stated.

Shelton’s Duet With Gwen Stefani

In the year since he left The Voice, Shelton has kept himself busy. Earlier in 2024, he released the song “Purple Irises” with his wife, former No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani. Shelton has since said that this has become a “favorite” song of theirs.

“I’d always thought it was just something different,” he said. “It sounded like it came from another time. She’s been working and piling up songs for a while now, and I always went back to, ‘Man, I love that one.’ One day I was sitting at the house and she called me and said, ‘Hey, what do you think of doing “Purple Irises” as a duet?’ I was like, hell yeah!”

Shelton is one of the most talented country music stars working today. We can’t wait to see how his Las Vegas residency goes in 2025!
