Insiders are saying that the rift between Prince Willam and Prince Harry is getting deeper, with a new report saying that William wants Harry and his wife Meghan Markle “as far away as possible.”
Fox News reported that William wants Harry and Meghan to go overseas so that he can be in the spotlight with his own wife Kate Middleton. Sources say that Kensington Palace has been thinking about sending Harry and Meghan to Australia or Canada.
“There have been various ideas floated for them to take on a job abroad, such as governor-general of Australia or Canada, wherever,” a source said. “The trouble is that you effectively set them up as king and queen of a whole separate country, and 24-hour media means that Australia is not as far away as it used to be.”
“In some ways, it would suit William to get his brother out of the country for a few years and Meghan as far away as possible,” another source close to the brothers added.
While Harry and Meghan have claimed that they moved to Frogmore Cottage for privacy reasons, insiders say that they were actually sent there by the royals.
“Meghan and Harry feel they have been cut adrift,” a source close to the pair said. “They sent them down to Frogmore to try to keep them out of the limelight for a bit. This is doomed to fail. They are worried that Harry and Meghan are going to establish a totally separate enterprise that nobody can get under control.”
“There are discussions in palace circles about how do we harness Harry and Meghan and this tremendous global attention they get,” the source continued. “How do we draw them back, because laying down the law and ticking them off doesn’t work at all.”
This comes after body language expert Judi James told Daily Mail that Harry was clearly “desperate to avoid” his older brother as they left church services on Easter Sunday.
“Watching them at the Easter service was almost like watching strangers,” James said. “With Meghan about to give birth soon, Harry was by himself but there were no signs of him joining up with William and Kate on arrival or leaving the church. If anything, Harry appeared to avoid his brother.”
“Walking ahead of William he was first to greet their hosts but when William caught up beside them Harry turned and walked away,” she continued. “He then seemed to dart from a second host and back to the wall, where he appeared to stand with his head down, looking away. His trait of face-touching looked like a partial cut-off gesture that can signal a desire to hide. He clearly has the new baby on his mind and it would be natural for his anxiety levels to increase at a time like this but the lack of contact with William in the public poses come at a time when you might expect the exact opposite.”
It’s always sad when family members are not getting along and this is even more so given how much William and Harry have gone through together. We can only hope that the two brothers are able to put their differences aside and learn to get along again somehow!
