New England Patriots Tight End Martellus Bennett gave Donald Trump some bad news after he won the Super Bowl. When asked on whether or not he would accompany the Patriots to the White House to be honored by President Trump, Bennett replied, “I haven’t thought about it. I am not going to go.” He continued, “I can elaborate later on in life; right now I am just trying to enjoy this … People know how I feel about it, just follow me on Twitter.”

Bennett told other Sporting News that he believes other players aren’t speaking out because they aren’t knowledgeable or don’t want to damage their personal brand.

Watch:

Bennett has been an outspoken supporter of Black Lives Matter. He even wrote an opinion piece supporting the movement.

Bennett also participated in the National Anthem protest. However, instead of taking a knee like Kaepernick he raised his fist into the air.

Bennett is definitely entitled to not meet with the President or attend the White House for the honor, but it is a shame if he doesn’t. He misses out on a chance to actually meet with President Donald Trump and potentially discuss the differences he has with him.

It’s quite possible he and the President would have got a long great. It worked out for Jim Brown, who raved about his meeting with Mr. Trump. And even the Patriots owner is a supporter of Mr. Trump revealing how he stayed in touch with him after the death of his wife.

It’s a real shame if he decides to cut his nose off despite his face!
