The series follows the lives of police chief Kevin Garvey and his family, along with grieving widow Nora Durst and her brother, Reverend Matt Jamison. The series follows a group of people in a small New York community who try to continue with their lives while coping with the tragedy of this unexplained event.

3. The Sopranos, Max (1999-2007)

While we’re back to another one of the best completed TV shows that are a crime drama, it doesn’t focus on a police gang.
Instead, The Sopranos focuses on mobsters, specifically a New Jersey-based Italian-American mobster family, the Sopranos, who struggle to balance family life with Tony’s role as the leader of a criminal organization, which he reluctantly explores during therapy sessions with psychiatrist Jennifer Melfi. The series has six seasons with 86 episodes and is seen as one of the best TV shows out there.

The show ran from 2013 to 2021 and revolves around seven New York City Police Department detectives who are adjusting to their life under their new commanding officer, the serious and stern Captain Raymond Holt.
