Today marks the first day of Passover, the eight-day (or seven) celebration of the liberation of the Jewish people from bondage in Egypt.

Many who celebrate Passover cook a large dinner for family and friends on the first night. This is called the Seder dinner.

The Passover Seder dinner commemorates the occasion, and features food that is symbolic of the escape from Egypt.

Brisket is a popular choice for Seder because it can feed a large number of people.
