Kid Rock and his fans were furious on Friday when the North Dakota State Fair cancelled his concert at the last minute due to inclement weather, with concertgoers responding by trashing the venue as they rioted.
‘SO P***ED OFF’
Kid Rock had taken to Twitter just after midnight on Friday to confirm that his concert had been cancelled.
“SO P***ED OFF we could not play for a sold out crowd tonight in Minot, ND (because of high winds),” he wrote. “I know it sucks but none of us can control mother nature. Please be safe leaving and take care of each other.”

Daily Mail reported that the cancellation did not sit well with fans, with video showing members of the crowd of 18,000 concertgoers chucking beer cans and other trash after a police officer announced onstage that Kid Rock’s concert would not be held. At least one person attempted to storm the stage, but security was able to take him down, and another furious fan was seen being led away in handcuffs.

Kid Rock had been scheduled to perform at the venue at 9.30 pm on Friday after Night Ranger, his opening act, performed for over two hours. However, the show kept having to be delayed as a storm brewed on the outskirts of Minot.
It wasn’t until around 11 pm that a Ward County Sheriff’s Department officer walked onstage to let the crowd know that the concert was cancelled. Police were forced to surround the fairground with police cars as the unruly and livid crowd was led out of the venue.

Venue And Police Respond
The North Dakota State Fair said in a statement that Kid Rock’s concert was cancelled “due to safety concerns of the high winds, lightning, and severe weather in the area,” adding that all tickets will be refunded.
The local sheriff’s office also released a statement of their own saying that the “decision to cancel the Kid Rock concert was not made by the Sheriff’s Department.”
“The Sheriff simply announced the cancellation,” the department added. “We did not cancel the show.”
Kid Rock has long been known for being outspoken about his conservative views, and he announced back in January that he would not be playing at any venues with mask and vaccine mandates during his 2022 tour.
“There’s been a lot of talk about vaccine mandates and venues. People saying, ‘I’m not going to that venue because of the vaccine mandate’ and this, that, and the other,” he said at the time.
“Trust me, we’ve done all our research on this and the consensus says that all this is going to be done, if there are any at these venues, I’m not aware of any, but if there are any, they’re going to be gone by the time we get to your city,” Kid Rock added. “If they’re not, trust me, you don’t have to worry. You’ll be getting your money back because I won’t be showing up either.”
‘Make America Rock Again’
Kid Rock kicked off his tour in Evansville, Indiana on April 6 with an introduction video from former President Donald Trump.
“Hello, everyone. I love you all,” Trump said in the video, which was shown at the start of the concert. “I know you’re having a great time at the Kid Rock concert tonight. Quite frankly, he’s amazing. All of you in attendance are truly the backbone of our great country. Hard-working, God-fearing, rock-and-roll patriots.”

Trump went on to say that Kid Rock “is truly one of the greatest entertainers of our time. Not the best golfer by any means, his golf game could use a little work, but a great, great entertainer, and that’s why you’re there.”
“Let’s all continue to love one another, fight for our God-given freedoms, and most of all, let’s make America rock again,” Trump concluded. “Make America Rock Again.”
The tour is scheduled to run until September 17, when it is set to come to an end in Clarkston, Michigan. If you’re a Kid Rock fan, you should definitely check out if he is playing in your city between now and then!
