Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt got married in 2019, one year after they met in church. In a new interview with the Hollywood star Drew Barrymore, Schwarzenegger opened up about how they started dating.

‘He Didn’t Try And Pick Me Up In Church’

“We met each other at church. It was very sweet, but he didn’t try and pick me up in church,” said Schwarzenegger, 33, according to Page Six

“Everybody’s always like, ‘How did that happen that you were in church? How’d that work?’” she added.

After describing Pratt as her “favorite person” who “puts goodness into the world,” Barrymore asked Schwarzenegger when she knew that he was the love of her life. Instead of answering this question, however, Schwarzenegger suggested that her mother Maria Shriver introduce Barrymore to a new man.

“[She] loves to be a matchmaker and she will do it,” Schwarzenegger said. “It’s, like, her pride in life.”

Since their marriage, Schwarzenegger and Pratt have become the parents of two daughters: Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 8 months. Pratt is also a father to a 10 year-old son named Jack, who he had with his ex-wife Anna Faris.

Schwarzenegger Defends Pratt

This comes days after Schwarzenegger defended Pratt from attacks that he’s received over the years from the left.

“I see what people say,” Schwarzenegger, 33, told The New York Times. “But I just know that it’s so far from the reality.”

Schwarzenegger went on to say that “growing up, hearing people say certain things about my parents, my siblings, my extended family” was hard. She is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Shriver, who is the niece of the former President John F. Kennedy. Schwarzenegger went on to say that her mother warned her about the “never-ending trap” of responding to critics.

Schwarzenegger had previously defended Pratt back in 2020, when he was dubbed the “worst Hollywood Chris” in an internet poll.

“Is this really what we need?” she said at the time. “There’s so much going on in the world, and people struggling in so many ways. Being mean is so yesterday. There’s enough room to love all these guys. Love is what we all need, not meanness and bullying. Let’s try that.”

Pratt Praises Schwarzenegger

As for Pratt, he’s always spoken very highly of Schwarzenegger.

“Katherine just has the most amazing maternal instincts,” Pratt told Live From E! last year. “She just really knows what to do. I’ll follow her lead.”

Pratt later told Entertainment Tonight that transitioning from home life to the red carpet is like “going from zero to 60 in no seconds.”

“At home, it’s really kind of zero, which I love,” he said. “I’ve shifted into a gear that feels so nice. I’m at home with mama and babies, and it’s just fantastic man, I love it.”

“And then to be here, it’s like, ‘Wait, what happened? Two seconds ago, I was changing diapers and here I am.’ But I love it,” he continued.

Pratt and Schwarzenegger are both known for being proud Christians, so it comes as now surprise that they met in church. God bless them both, and we wish them many more years of happiness to come!
