Jussie Smollett Learns His Fate on ‘Empire’

Disgraced actor Jussie Smollett has just learned his fate on the television show “Empire,” and many are fuming over Fox’s decision.

Daily Mail reported that while Fox just renewed “Empire” for a sixth season with no imminent plans for Smollett to return, they also renewed his contract. This means that Smollett will still be paid for the next season, and that his character Jamal could return at any time.

“By mutual agreement, the studio has negotiated an extension to Jussie Smollett’s option for season six, but at this time there are no plans for the character of Jamal to return to Empire,” Fox said in a statement.

Smollett released a statement through a representative that makes it clear that the actor sees this as a victory.

“We’ve been told Jussie will not be on Empire in the beginning of the season but he appreciates they have extended his contract to keep Jamal’s future open,” the representative said. “Most importantly, he is grateful to Fox and Empire leadership, cast, crew, and fans for their unwavering support.”

The fact that Smollett will still be paid for the next season of “Empire” is made all the more sickening by the fact that Chicago police have said for months that the actor only staged a hate crime against himself back in January so that he could negotiate a higher salary for himself on the series. Despite everything that Smollett has been accused of doing, it seems that his scheme has worked out at least in part because he will be paid a full salary next year with no plans for him to actually do any work.

It’s absolutely despicable that Fox did not cut all ties with Smollett as soon as the accusations against him came to light. It should be noted that Roseanne Barr was fired by ABC within hours of posting a tweet that some found to be offensive. Barr was not even accused of committing a crime as Smollett was, yet she was never given a chance to explain or redeem herself.

The only reason that Smollett has been spared and Barr was fired swiftly is because he is a liberal and she is a conservative. While Smollett faked a hate crime against himself, the liberals of Hollywood have effectively forgiven him because he made his perpetrators MAGA-hat wearing hoodlums, and therefore gave them ammunition to go after the president and his supporters for months.

With the door open for Smollett to possibly return at some point in the season, it seems that Hollywood is waiting to see if the outrage against the actor from the public will die down enough for them to sneak him back onto the show. That’s why you should not be surprised if a few months into season six, Smollett is back on television as if none of this ever happened.

The hypocrisy of liberal Hollywood is truly a sickening sight to behold.
