Jason Aldean Donald Trump

The country music star Jason Aldean made headlines back in January when he and his wife Brittany rang in the new year with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. In a new wide-ranging interview, Aldean is opening up about the friendship he shares with Trump.

Aldean Talks Trump

“I didn’t know what to think when I [went to Mar-A-Lago],” Aldean told The Tennessean. “I’ve been around many celebrities, but there’s a huge difference between being around those guys and being around President Trump. He has an aura, but I feel like he’s also still human, and I might feel like we’re friends.”

“We ate breakfast and lunch together, went to the driving range, played 18 holes of golf, and then [Brittany and I] went to his New Year’s party,” he added.

Aldean and Brittany are two of the only celebrities in the entertainment world who are brave enough to be open about their right-wing views. They have regularly defended Trump over the years while also speaking out against Democratic President Joe Biden and his policies.

Aldean Shocked By His Own Success

In this same interview, Aldean talked about how shocked he is by the success he has had in country music as of late.

“In the past five years, I’ve finally been able to take the time to accept that I’ve accomplished far more in my career than I ever thought I would,” Aldean candidly admitted. “Never in a trillion years did I expect this. I just wanted to make a decent living, have a nice house, keep the lights turned on and pay off my bills.”

When it comes to his songwriting, Aldean likes to keep it simple, explaining that his strategy is to make “songs I like that I could see myself performing every night.”

“I learned years ago not to let a lot of people hear these songs because everyone is going to have an opinion, and I lose a lot of who I am and what I like because I’m over-thinking the process,” Aldean said.

Aldean’s Collaboration With Carrie Underwood

Aldean also talked about his hit ballad “If I Didn’t Love You,” on which he collaborated with Carrie Underwood.

“I’ve had collaborations not work well before, but when Carrie was warming up — she hadn’t even cut her vocal yet — my producer, Michael [Knox] and I said, ‘Oh. My. God,'” he recalled.

In the end, Aldean is loving life right now, as he is living his dream of being a successful performer.

“I don’t think I have any stress right now,” he continued.

No wonder Trump is friends with this guy because Aldean is the real deal! We can’t wait to see where his career takes him in the years to come.
