I love Forrest Gump. Growing up I watched it every time it was on TV. Due to its length that would often take up a good chunk of my day but I didn’t care.
In a world where so many movies are cynical, mean, and filled with sex and violence it was so nice to watch an uplifting and positive film that paid tribute to the undefeated American spirit.
10. Forrest Gump
Forrest leaves an impression on people with his childlike innocence.

Lieutenant Dan
Sinise played the enigmatic Lieutenant Dan, a man who felt his destiny was to die in the war but ended up severely disabled by losing both of his legs.
Like too many veterans after Vietnam, Lt. Dan became adrift in drugs, alcohol, and guilt as he struggled with finding the meaning of life.
It was with the help of his loyal friend Forrest Gump, played by Tom Hanks, that he found purpose, peace, and new legs.

I can’t be the ONLY person who opens up their freezer and says “Lt. Dan, Ice cream.” In Forest Gump’s voice.

Gary Sinise: World-Class Good Guy
Gary Sinise is a world-renowned actor, but perhaps his greatest contribution is his dedication to our wounded veterans and their families.
Sinise is dedicated to using his fame for good and for helping out those who sacrificed everything for the United States of America and our freedoms.
On #WarriorWednesday we’re inspired by Marine Corps veteran Kirstie Ennis who sustained near-death injuries including the loss of her leg while deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. She continues to serve others, advocate for veterans, and even climb the world’s tallest mountains. pic.twitter.com/JtfJz1Lqul
