There have been several amazing video game to TV adaptations lately, like The Last of Us and Fallout. And gamers will be happy to hear that a Far Cry TV series adaptation is supposedly in development at FX.

Originally released in 2004, with numerous sequels, with the most recent one, Far Cry 6, launching in 2021, the franchise is one of the best-selling action games. The Ubisoft game is apparently in the works with Noah Hawley, the creator of Fargo and Alien: Earth. Along with Hawley is Rob Mac, co-creator and actor of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

According to a now removed post from Ubisoft’s website, FX is developing a Far Cry TV series adaptation. The show is supposed to be an anthology series with each season featuring “a new world with a different cast of characters following the video game franchise’s signature standalone storytelling format.”
As written by Ubisoft Film & Television’s head of film and television content, Margaret Boykin, in the post, the show will not “shy away from the darkest and most absurd parts of humanity”.

Unfortunately, though, there isn’t much news besides that as the post was later deleted. It seems as though it was accidentally announced too soon. Even so, the Far Cry TV series adaptation is apparently in development, which is hopeful for fans who want to experience the game again in a whole new way.
Along with this development, a seventh game is also rumored to be in the works as of 2023, alongside a multiplayer title. It was reported back then that both games are looking at at least 2025 as far as a release date.
