Country superstar Kane Brown treated fans to a few hours of normal on the Chicago stop of his Blessed & Free tour at the United Center on Saturday night. The “One Mississippi” singer shook hands with fans, signed items, and even brought kids on stage to help him perform his hit collaboration with Marshmello “One Thing Right.”

While fans were required to show proof of vaccination or a valid exemption before entering the United Center, neither venue staff nor the artists policed masking once inside the arena.

Kane Brown, Chase Rice, and Restless Roads all enthusiastically engaged with fans singing along to their favorite songs, most without masks.

Kane Brown Makes Kids Dreams Come True

During his performance of “One Thing Right,” Kane Brown invited four young fans from the audience to join him on stage. One child was wearing the iconic helmet of DJ Marshmello who collaborates with Brown on the hit song.

The rising country artist first connected with the DJ at the 2018 American Music Awards where Kane Brown took home awards for Favorite Male Artist – Country, Favorite Album – Country, and Favorite Song – Country for “Heaven” and Marshmello won Best Electronic Dance Artist.

The kids were starstruck and one girl was being especially shy. You can see the other kids attempt to comfort her before Kane Brown himself pulls the girl into his arms for some superstar encouragement in the video clip below.

The country artist is open about the struggles of his childhood. Brown, who grew poor with a single mom in rural Georgia, is known to have a soft spot for kids and takes his role of father very seriously.

Brown’s song “For My Daughter” and FAMILY line of merchandise underscores the artist’s emphasis on strong family values.

Brown and his wife Katelyn have a two-year-old daughter, Kingsley Rose. The couple also just welcomed a second daughter, Kodi Jane, on December 31. Brittany Aldean, the wife of fellow country star Jason Aldean, recently threw them a baby shower as the two couples are close friends.

Brown’s opening acts set the tone for the big energy and crowd interactions. Up-and-coming group Restless Road as well as hit writer/artist Chase Rice did a great job of hyping the crowd and giving personalized attention.

Rice wrote a little ditty called “Cruise” for Florida Georgia Line which you might have heard of. As it happens, Florida Georgia Line gave Kane Brown to be their tour opener.
