Colin Kaepernick’s workout in front of NFL teams seems to have backfired on him over the weekend. Many are saying the former football player may have done more harm than good to his reputation with the league. It’s increasingly clear to American football fans that Kaepernick is far more interested in playing the victim than he is in ever playing in the NFL again.
Kaepernick’s Workout for The NFL
Last week the NFL announced that they would be holding a private workout for Kaepernick. They were giving him the chance to show off his skills to every team in the league.
The workout was set to take place on Saturday at the Atlanta Falcons training facility. But, at the last second, Kaepernick shocked everyone by switching the location to a high school.

Of the 25 teams that were scheduled to attend the workout, only eight made it to the new location. Kaepernick’s representatives Ben Meiselas and Jeff Nalley claimed that the change was meant to facilitate “a transparent and open process.”
“From the outset, Mr. Kaepernick requested a legitimate process and from the outset the NFL league office has not provided one,” Meiselas and Nalley said in a statement.
“Most recently, the NFL has demanded that as a precondition to the workout, Mr. Kaepernick sign an unusual liability waiver that addresses employment-related issues and rejected the standard liability waiver from physical injury proposed by Mr. Kaepernick’s representatives.”
Who Actually Showed At Kaepernick’s Workout?
“Additionally, Mr. Kaepernick requested all media be allowed into the workout to observe and film it and for an independent film crew to be there to ensure transparency,” they continued.
“The NFL denied this request. Based on the prior conduct by the league office, Mr. Kaepernick simply asks for a transparent and open process which is why a new location has been selected for today. Mr. Kaepernick looks forward to seeing the representatives from the clubs today.”

NFL Fires Back at Kaepernick
The NFL fired back with a statement of their own. They said they were “disappointed that Colin did not appear for his workout.” In fact, they said they learned of the location change at the same time as the general public did.
The NFL say they sent Kaepernick’s representatives “a standard liability waiver based on the waiver used by National Invitational Camp at all NFL Combines and by NFL clubs when trying out free agent players” on Wednesday. Only for the quarterback’s team to send “a completely rewritten and insufficient waiver” back at noon on Saturday.
Rapper Jay-Z Is “Disappointed”
The rapper Jay-Z, who apparently convinced NFL head Roger Goodell to hold the workout, was allegedly upset over how it went.
“Jay-Z feels disappointed with Colin’s actions, and believes he turned a legitimate workout into a publicity stunt,” a source said.
Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since he left the San Francisco 49ers at the end of the 2016 season. At the time, he was making headlines for taking a knee during the national anthem before games to protest against racial inequality in the United States.
Since then, liberals have turned Kaepernick into a martyr of sorts. They claim that he has not been signed to another NFL team because of racism in the league. However, others have pointed out that he led the 49ers to an abysmal losing record in 2016. The same people argue that his lack of football skills is likely the reason he hasn’t been signed.
What happened this past weekend shows Kaepernick’s real motivation. The failed QB seems far more interested in playing the victim than actually playing in the NFL again. He would rather keep pushing the narrative that he is being discriminated against by the NFL than actually get signed by another team again.
Hopefully, this latest stunt from Kaepernick will land him on the NFL’s blacklist for good.
