Cher, 76, Fires Back At ‘Haters’ Attacking Her For Dating A 36 Year-Old

The 76 year-old singer Cher is firing back at her “haters” attacking her for dating someone forty years her junior. This comes after it was revealed that she is dating the 36-year-old music executive Alexander “A.E.” Edwards.

Cher Confirms Romance – Fires Back At Haters

After rumors swirled that Cher was dating Edwards, she confirmed the romance on Sunday by sharing a photo of him along with the caption “Alexander” next to a red heart. When someone commented saying that Cher has a “new boyfriend,” the singer responded by saying “YESSSS!”

Fox News reported that in the replies of this Tweet, Cher revealed that Edwards has already met her family, and that he treats her “like a queen.”

However, Cher began to become angry when she saw posts from “haters” who took issue with their age gap. 

“I’m Not Defending us,” Cher wrote in response. “Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’ Matter That we’re Happy and Not Bothering Anyone.”

‘Love Doesn’t Know Math’

Yahoo News reported that when one worried fan questioned what Edwards’ “intentions” are, Cher hit back by writing, “As we All Know …I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY,& What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances… It’s WHO I Am.”

“LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH, IT SEES,” Cher later added. 

Cher had hinted last week that she may have found love again when she tweeted, “One part of my life is SO AMAZING.”

Edwards previously dated the media personality Amber Rose, who accused him of cheating on her with twelve women over the course of their relationship. He later admitted to doing this during an Instagram Live. 

“‘S—, I got caught’,” he said of Rose’s claims. “I got caught before, you know? And she’s had enough, obviously. I love her, though. That’s like, my best friend, the mother of my son. I love my stepson, too, but….I like women.”

“It’s just who I am, and it’s not how she wants to be loved,” he added.

Cher’s Romantic History – Past Marriages

Cher has quite a romantic history herself. Her first husband was the late Sonny Bono, with whom she formed the singing duo Sonny & Cher, and they were married from 1964 until they divorced in 1975.

Bono would later become a Republican congressman before he was tragically killed in a skiing accident in 1998. We can only imagine what Bono would think of the radically liberal political views that Cher is known for expressing today!

While Cher has not married again in the last four decades, she’s been linked to various men during that time. In the early 1980s, Cher dated Val Kilmer, who is fourteen years her junior. At the time of their romance, Cher was in her late 30s, and Kilmer was 22 years-old. 

Though their romance only lasted from 1982-1984, the two remained friends, and Cher admitted in an essay for People Magazine last year that she “still loves” Kilmer. 

“He’s like nobody I’ve ever known,” she wrote. “He is exasperating and hysterical. Thrilling and funny, and doesn’t do what anyone else does. I don’t know how we stayed friends, we just did. We didn’t try. We just were.”

These days, Cher is far better known for her Twitter rants and her radically liberal political beliefs than she is about anything she’s currently doing in the music world.
