Country music legend Carrie Underwood resumed her residency in Las Vegas on Saturday night with a very special guest joining her: her mother!
Underwood Performs With Her Mother
“If you wanna go, I’ll take you.” These might have been the most pivotal words anyone has ever spoken to me. I was busy talking myself out of trying out for American Idol and my mom said these words…the rest is history… https://t.co/ONkt7dim1g pic.twitter.com/gs28z5P2TI

Taste Of Country reported that Carrie Underwood was proud to bring her mother Carole onstage with her.
“Is there anything you want to say to these fine people?” Underwood said, to which her mother replied, “I’m so happy you’re here and I hope you enjoy the show.”
From there, the two women broke into a rendition of “All-American Girl,” which is Underwood’s hit song from 2007. While singing with Underwood is no easy task, Carole more than managed to keep up with her daughter!

Underwood Praises Her Mother
Underwood took to Instagram to post photos of their duet, and to credit her mother for convincing her to audition for “American Idol,” which she won back in 2005.
“‘If you wanna go, I’ll take you.’ These might have been the most pivotal words anyone has ever spoken to me,” Underwood wrote. “I was busy talking myself out of trying out for American Idol and my mom said these words…the rest is history. Tonight, I got to sing with her on stage in front of the most incredible crowd in Las Vegas. Life sure is amazing!”

Carole has said that she never thought Underwood would win “American Idol,” and instead hoped that her being on the show would help her secure a job in her home state of Oklahoma.
“We never even considered that she could win it at all, but at least maybe she could have some face and name recognition, and she would get to be an anchor or something on one of our local TV shows in Tulsa,” she recently said.

Underwood’s Mother Her ‘Biggest Female Influence’
Earlier this month, Underwood praised her mother as her “biggest female influence.”
“I would say my biggest female influence would have to be my Mom,” Underwood said, according to iHeart Radio. “She was the first person that I was around that really taught me what it was like to be a woman, to be a Mom, to be a wife, to be a daughter and a sister.”
“And just watching her and how she did everything with grace and integrity and she’s so strong,” she added. “I mean, she was just the best role model anybody could have ever had.”
It’s so nice to see that Underwood has such a strong relationship with her mother! We hope that this is just the first of many times that they perform together.
