Today is the one year anniversary of the death of the comedian Bob Saget, who died on January 9, 2022 at the age of 65 from head injuries sustained in a fall in a hotel room in Florida. To mark this solemn day, Saget’s former “Full House” co-star Candace Cameron Bure is speaking out to pay tribute to her TV father.

‘I Love You, Bob’

“I stayed up for hours watching videos of Bob on my phone,” Cameron Bure wrote on Instagram alongside some photos of herself with Saget. “Videos I couldn’t watch a year ago because it hurt too much. Last night they made me laugh ?.”

“They comforted me and warmed my heart,” she continued. “I watched them over and over and laughed so hard. I miss him so much and I’m grateful he was my friend for so many years. I love you, Bob❤️ *now go hug a friend like Bob would.”

Saget Had Cameron Bure’s Back

Saget was always an outspoken defender of Cameron Bure, who often comes under attack for her conservative Christian views.

“I’m going to ask you to talk about me for a second,” Cameron Bure said while appearing on Saget’s podcast in April of 2021. “For those people that think that because I am a happy, positive person, that I must be a fake person, would you say that that’s true or false?”

“You’re the opposite of fake,” Saget replied. “And I’m sorry — you’re perky sometimes. What’s wrong with being perky?”

“Thank you,” she said. “I only ask that because sometimes you read comments, and most of them, they roll off my back. But when people are annoyed at me that I’m such a happy person … I was, like, let someone speak into this that’s known me since I was 9 years old.”

“You’re a positive person,” Saget told her. “So if you’re perky, it’s because you’re excited, and/or you’ve had a lot of caffeine. That’s what people should know—there’s nothing fake about you.”

Cameron Bure Leaned On Her Faith After Saget’s Death

After Saget passed away, Cameron Bure leaned on her strong Christian faith to get through it.

“I don’t question my faith,” Cameron Bure told US Magazine one month after Saget’s death. â€śI believe with all of my heart that God knows everything that’s happening and there’s nothing that catches him by surprise. He doesn’t make mistakes.”

That being said, Cameron Bure still had questions about why God decided to take Saget when he was still so young.

“Of course, I’m gonna have a lot of questions when I get to talk to God face-to-face one day,” she admitted. “It always makes me cling closer to God. … I mean, I love God in the good times, but I’m so grateful that he’s there in the difficult times.”

“Because the Bible says, God loves and brings comfort to those who are brokenhearted,” she added. “He’s close to those who are brokenhearted. And I definitely feel his presence in those times and that’s comforting.”

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been one year since Saget passed away. Please join us in saying a prayer for Cameron Bure and Saget’s loved ones, as this will surely be a difficult day for them.
