During this week’s episode of “The Voice,” Camila Cabello learned the hard way that messing with Blake Shelton isn’t a good idea when she was booed after she took a thinly veiled dig at him.

Cabello Booed For Disrespecting Shelton

Cabello, a 25 year-old singer who is currently in her first season appearing as a coach on “The Voice,” was booed by the audience over her response to critiques that Shelton made about her acts Devix and Sasha Hurtado after they performed MGMT’s “Electric Feel.”

“I feel like Sasha needs that minute to erupt with the right song for everyone to go ‘woah,'” Shelton said.

“You came at this at a disadvantage because you didn’t know the song, you came at it with a surprising confidence,” Cabello replied before turning to Shelton and saying, “You’re right for the first time ever.”

This didn’t sit well with the long-running NBC reality show’s audience, who fired back at Cabello by booing her for her disrespectful comments. Shelton couldn’t help but laugh awkwardly during the boos, while his wife and fellow coach Gwen Stefani stood by him by glaring at Cabello.

Cabello’s Attempts To Make Joke – Fails Miserably

At another point in the episode, Cabello suffered another awkward moment when a joke she tried to make failed miserably and was only met with silence from the audience, according to Daily Mail

While critiquing a performance by his contestants Kate Kalvach and Madison Hughes, Shelton talked about convincing Kate to join his team by bringing out a goat as a mascot, saying that “the whole goat distraction that night had prevented him from realizing just how truly talented Kate is.”

“I actually brought my goat today. Bring him out!” Cabello said in response, trying to make her own joke out of the situation.

Unfortunately for Cabello, however, nobody in the audience laughed at this, letting her know that her joke had fallen flat.

“This crowd hates me,” an embarrassed Cabello said, with her fellow coach John Legend adding, “She’s on fire, folks!”

Even Shelton tried to take pity on Cabello by begging the audience, “Would you guys please laugh at one of her jokes? Just one of them?”

Shelton is the only coach on “The Voice” who has been with the show since it premiered back in 2011, and he remains incredibly popular with fans, so Cabello might want to think twice before she tries to disrespect him  in the future.

Shelton Leaving ‘The Voice’

This comes just two weeks after Shelton announced that he will be leaving “The Voice” following the show’s upcoming 23rd season, which will be airing in the spring of 2023.

“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from ‘The Voice’ after Season 23,” he said, according to NBC News. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.”

“It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at ‘The Voice’ from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best,” Shelton added.

Shelton later ended his statement by saying, “Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches and everyone at ‘The Voice’ chasing their dreams. It wouldn’t happen without you!”

Shelton is a true class act who will be dearly missed on “The Voice.” Hopefully Cabello has learned her lesson, as he shouldn’t have to spend his final seasons on “The Voice” dealing with nonsensical digs from someone like her.
