Tyson Fury appears set to continue his boxing career.
The reigning WBC heavyweight champion defended his title Saturday, and began talks of a future bout with Oleksandar Usyk in 2023.
Fury scored a stoppage win vs. Derek Chisora in the 10th round from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The referee finally waved off the contest after another attack by Fury.
Following the bout, Fury and his camp continued talks with Usyk for a springtime fight in Saudi Arabia. Usyk was on-hand to watch as Fury outlanded Chisora 205-87.
Fury did his talking post-fight, calling Usyk “little man” and saying to “Let’s get it on.”
Earlier this year, Fury said he planned to retire after finishing Dillian Whyte. However, he appeared to be in prime fighting shape once again, toying with Chisora on a chilly night in England.
He stated plans to face Usyk unless “it doesn’t for XYZ reasons” happen. If that is the case, Fury wants to meet Joe Joyce at Wembley in 2023.
