– When Eric Bischoff tried to purchase WCW about 18 years ago, the deal fell through at the last minute. Bischoff was told that he could have the roster, equipment and pretty everything else; but, he would not have a TV deal to air the product. With no TV deal, it did not matter how stacked the WCW roster was or if they had the greatest storylines going as the company was worth nothing without a major platform to air.

Fast-forward to today, where things have dramatically changed and TV deals have been replaced by streaming devices, like the WWE Network or Twitch, to air live and taped shows.

As of now, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) does not have a TV deal in place but they are speaking to several providers. There is speculation that when AEW stars airing weekly shows, they will be on Tuesday nights; probably against 205 live or SmackDown. AEW trademarked “Tuesday Night Dynamite,” several months ago and that has led to speculation they will be going head-to-head against WWE on Tuesdays.

At the AEW rally last week, they mentioned they want to run a few major shows before starting to tape the action for TV. Lots of details about AEW’s future plans are starting to come out and a TV announcement should be made shortly or at their All or Nothing event from Las Vegas’s MGM Grand Garden Arena.

– As for some major AEW shows, two more are rumored. We already know Jacksonville will host the second event over the summer, with July  being the rumored month accord ting to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The third show is rumored for Chicago at the Sears Center, which is where the All In card took place. It would be recognized as a one year celebration party that is happening during Labor Day weekend in September.
