The country music star Jelly Roll has shocked many of his fans by revealing that he only wears socks one time before throwing them away.

Jelly Roll Only Wears Socks Once

Jelly Roll, 39, revealed this while talking to Audacy’s Sabrina from Queens ahead of last week’s 59th annual ACM Awards.

“Can I tell you a frivolous habit I have?” he said. “Don’t judge me for this, y’all. I promise I grew up very humble, but I only wear socks once.”

Jelly Roll went on to say that he buys all of his socks “in bulk” so that he can get away with only wearing them once.

“It’s the most frivolous thing I’ve done with my success,” he admitted. “I’m sorry, I hope I didn’t let nobody down with that, but when you’re fat, you can’t have stinky feet too, so you gotta have fresh socks!”

Jelly Roll’s Fitness Journey

Jelly Roll may call himself fat, but he’s actually on a fitness journey that has seen him lose “70-something pounds.”

“I’ve been really kicking ass, man. I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week,” he recently told People Magazine, adding that he is “doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I’m eating healthy right now.”

“I feel really good,” he continued, adding that he plans to lose another 100 pounds in the future.

Jelly Roll’s ACM Awards

At the ACM Awards last week, Jelly Roll was up for four awards, including entertainer of the year.

“I spent my whole life just thinking that what I was doing would never be heard or seen,” he gushed of the recognition.

“I almost gave up on any dream of this thing ever being like it is now, and man, is it just incredible to be in the middle of it,” he added. “I’m grateful.”

Jelly Roll ended up taking home the ACM Award for music event of the year with Lainey Wilson for the duo’s song “Save Me,” according to Page Six.

“This song saved me,” he told the audience at the awards show. “I was in a dark place. I thought I would die and go to jail, and I’m standing here today an ACM Awards winner.”

Jelly Roll’s History

Jelly Roll released “Save Me” back in May of 2020. In the years since then, Jelly Roll has released two major studio albums, debuted at the Grand Ole Opry, and won the CMA Award for New Artist of the Year.

Last year, Jelly Roll won three CMT Music Awards and was later named CMA’s New Artist of the Year. At the 2024 Grammy Awards, he was nominated for Best New Artist.

Jelly Roll is one of the most talented country music stars alive today. He’s widely known for his down-to-earth attitude, so his socks habit is somewhat surprising. In the end, however, it doesn’t make us love Jelly Roll any less!
