Earlier today, we reported that a terrorist attack that aimed to target a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna, Austria was thwarted at the last minute.
Now, disturbing new details about this planned attack have come to light.
New Details About Planned Swift Terror Attack
Austrian police have reportedly arrested two teenage suspects regarding this planned attack. The 17 year-old suspect reportedly took a job at the Ernst Happel Stadium, where Swift was set to perform, just a few days ago.
The job that he took reportedly involves providing services at the venue during the concerts.
Police arrested the suspect outside the venue, and he is said to have been an accomplice, rather than the mastermind behind the attack.
The main suspect is a 19 year-old who reportedly quit his job last month. Omar Haijawi-Pirchne, the head of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, told Sky News Australia that this suspect wanted to “kill himself and a large crowd at the concert either today or tomorrow.”
Haijawi-Pirchne went on to say that the 19 year-old suspect allegedly has North Macedonian roots. He reportedly wanted to use weapons outside the stadium to kill as many people as possible. Haijawai-Pirchne added that the suspect was “clearly radicalized in the direction of the Islamic State (IS) and thinks it is right to kill infidels.”
Police Search Suspect’s Vehicle
When police searched the 19 year-old suspect’s vehicle, they found 21,000 euros of counterfeit cash. They also discovered a blue police light for his car to get better access to the arena’s periphery.
Police additionally detained a 15 year-old who may have just known about the plot but didn’t participate in planning it. All three of the teenagers were reportedly radicalized online by ISIS in the last month.
Swift has since cancelled all three of her shows in Vienna. She will still head to London next week to end the European leg of her Eras Tour. Policing minister Diana Johnson said Scotland Yard would look at “all the intelligence” ahead of these performances.
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement saying that the planned terror attacks in Vienna will not impact Swift’s five planned shows that are set to take place at Wembley Stadium starting on August 15.
Hopefully, that means they’re checking out employees at Wembley as well.

London Mayor Speaks Out
London Mayor Sadiq Khan defiantly said that his city will “carry on” with Swift’s planned shows.
“We are a capital city, we are an international city, on a regular basis we host major events, whether it’s concerts – Bruce Springsteen was most recently at Wembley Stadium – we’re looking forward to welcoming Taylor Swift back,” he said.
“I’m currently at Stamford Bridge (Chelsea FC’s stadium),” Khan continued. “Every other week, there’s a game taking place. We have a huge amount of experience in policing these events, we’re never complacent, many lessons were learnt after the awful Manchester Arena attack.”
It’s sad that this is the world we live in now. Thank goodness that Austrian authorities were able to thwart this terrorist attack before it could take place!
