Taylor Swift Announces End Of Eras Tour – Admits It Has ‘Become My Entire Life’

The pop star Taylor Swift dropped a bomb on Thursday when she announced the end of her Eras Tour.

Swift Reveals When Eras Tour Will End

Thursday’s Eras Tour stop in Liverpool was the 100th date on the massive worldwide tour. During this concert, Swift got reflective and opened up about the end of the Eras Tour for the first time.

“I think a lot of people are like, well, how are you going to celebrate the 100th show?” said Swift, 34, according to Entertainment Weekly. “And for me, the celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that’s it.”

“That feels like so far away from now,” she continued. “But then again, it feels like I just did my first show on this tour, because you guys have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows.”

Eras Tour Has Become Swift’s ‘Entire Life’

Swift went on to admit that the Eras Tour has “become my entire life” and that she doesn’t even remember her hobbies anymore because “all I do when I’m not on stage is just like sit at home and try to think of some clever acoustic song mashups and thinking about what you might like to hear.”

Swift concluded by thanking her fans for coming to her shows.

“I want to spend another show just thinking about that and living in this moment with you and being here with you and just know that I appreciate every single ounce of effort you put in to be with us when this tour reaches triple digits of shows,” she said. “So thank you.” 

Swift then played her popular song “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).” She will perform two more shows in Liverpool this weekend before heading to Cardiff. From there, she’ll perform a few shows in London. Swift will end the month of June by performing in Dublin, Ireland, according to Fox News.

Swift’s Record-Breaking Eras Tour

Swift kicked off the Eras Tour in on March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. By the time it ends in Vancouver, Canada on December 8, it will have spanned five continents and 152 total shows. Thursday marked the first time that Swift ever publicly confirmed that the Eras Tour will end. Over the past year, she’s added dates to it various times.

The Eras Tour has broken many records. Back in December of 2023, it became the first tour to gross over $1 billion, according to Bustle. When Swift kicked off the tour in Glendale last year, she broke the record for highest attended concert by a female artist in the U.S. after selling 69,000 tickets.

Swift also achieved the biggest single-day attendance at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium with 71,000 people, Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium with 73,117 fans, and Seattle’s Lumen Field with 72,171 attendees. On top of that, she set three-day attendance records at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with 210,607 people, and New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium with 217,635 fans.
