
Legendary lead guitarist and Richie Sambora left Bon Jovi in 2013.
But Sambora, who was once married to the actress Heather Locklear, recently said he was completely open to returning to the band, but he has one condition.
Sambora’s Return Contingent on Jon’s Recovery
Sambora said he’d return only if his old friend Jon Bon Jovi is okay after his vocal cord surgery.
Sambora said this while appearing on The Allison Hagendorf Show earlier this month.
āThe fans will just love it. Itās not finance, it has nothing to do with [that]. The world could use it,ā Sambora said about a possible return.
āBut, as Jon said, heās been having problems with his voice, and now he had that operation.ā¦ Itās an iffy thing at best,” he added. “I donāt know if thereās anybody that has ever had that be successful. Iām not really sure about that. And I went to his house, and we talked about it.ā
Sambora went on to promise to return to the band if Bon Jovi is able to get his voice bac.
“Iāll go play. I got songs. I swear to God,” he continued. “Itās the honest-to-God truth.ā¦ I told everybody that I would, without a doubt, go back. The world needs it.ā¦ We need hope.ā

Sambora Thinks Hulu Documentary Was Too Long
In the series, Sambora apologizes for his sudden decision to leave the band right before a show in Calgary in 2013.
As for the Hulu series overall? Sambora thought it was too long.
āWe couldāve cut that down to about two hours,ā Sambora said.
He added that the documentary should have been a “celebration” of “the great songs that we wrote and how we sold all those millions of records and played for people.”
