Lainey Wilson is one of the most popular country music stars in the world at the moment. As she begins 2025, however, she has one big goal in mind that isn’t music related, and she’s determined to make it happen!

Wilson Wants To Get Engaged

Wilson, 32, has been dating Devlin “Duck” Hodges for three years. While interviewing Wilson, singer Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie XO expressed her hopes that Wilson and Hodges will get engaged in 2025. It turns out that Wilson is so eager for this to happen that she’s willing to pop the question herself if it comes to it!

“No pressure, brother! No pressure,” Wilson responded. “I might have to propose to him. We waiting!”

“No, Duck’s gonna do it. I could feel it,” Bunnie replied.

“I like that,” Wilson said in response.

Wilson has joked about proposing to Hodges in the past. When she debuted their relationship at the ACM Awards in May of 2023, she revealed that they’d been secretly dating for over a year.

“We’re not secretly engaged,” she clarified at the time. “No!

“But I guess I’m gonna have to propose to his [expletive] cause he ain’t proposed to me,” Wilson added with a laugh. “I think [an engagement] needs to be during a season of our life where we really have the time to, like, enjoy it.”

Duck Hodges

Hodges is a former NFL player who previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Los Angeles Rams. He now works in real estate. Hodges earned his “Duck” nickname from his college football coach during his time at Samford University in Alabama.

“His college football coach was like, ‘You’re one of the best quarterbacks I’ve ever worked with. And you remind me a lot of one of my favorite quarterbacks I got to work with years ago, and we called him Duck,’” Wilson previously told People Magazine. “And so he and the team just kind of started calling him Duck.”

In April of last year, Wilson brought Hodges to the 2024 CMT Awards with her. While on the red carpet at that event, she gushed over Hodges, describing him as a “looker.”

“He’s one of my biggest cheerleaders,” Wilson told Fox News. “I always say that he’s the kind of dude that will high-five you on the way in the door and high-five you on the way out.

“Especially with the kind of job that I have,” she continued. “It’s important to have those kind[s] of people in your life. So I’m very thankful that he’s here with me.”

Wilson Excited About 2025

Wilson rang in the new year in style when she performed at CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.

“I feel like I’m right where I’m supposed to be,” Wilson told Bunnie in her latest interview. “Just so many things to celebrate.”

Proposal or no proposal, Wilson is ready for whatever comes her way this year.

“So, if 2025 is anything like 2024, it’s gonna be another hell of a ride,” she said.

Here’s hoping that Hodges comes to his senses and proposes to Wilson in 2025. This girl is a keeper, Duck, so get down on one knee and propose before she does it for you!
