Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi recently gave fans a glimpse of a love note written by his wife, Dorothea Hurley, in his senior high school yearbook.

It might just be where their relationship, which ultimately led to a 35-year marriage, started.

The note popped up as the “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday.

The message she penned in the yearbook is touching.

“John, write a sequel to ‘Bobby’s Girl’ but name it ‘She’s Johnny’s Now,’ love Dot,” it reads.

Jon Bon Jovi Explains Wife’s Love Note And Song It Refers To

Bon Jovi, 62, explained to the studio audience that his wife’s love note was based on a real song that he had written.

“It was a song I had written called ‘Bobby’s Girl.’ One of the first original songs I’d written,” he said. “And she was dating my buddy Bobby and he went off to join the service as did my other two best friends and they all joined the Navy and it was my senior year of high school.”

He left the audience absolutely swooning with a collective sigh with what he said next.

“And you know…I just fell in love with the girl sitting next to me in history class,” he stated.

Later, in 1989, the “Bad Medicine” performer secretly flew with Dorothea to Las Vegas, where the two were married. They have four children together.

Bon Jovi joked that he’s never called his wife “Dot” since that love note.

Not Always A Saint

Bon Jovi recently admitted that he hasn’t always been “a saint” with his behavior as a rock star and credited “Dot” for holding them and the family together.

“There is no doubt in my mind that this world revolves because of her,” he said of his wife. “Because of what she did to keep the kids right, what she does to keep me right, what we do together to keep it right.”

“No doubt about it,” he added. “No matter where I went in my career, the ups or the downs, we went there together.”

Meanwhile, Bon Jovi has currently been promoting his new Hulu documentary, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.”

The 62-year-old frontman has written numerous songs about love after “Bobby’s Girl,” including some of his most famous hits: “Bed of Roses”, “I’ll Be There For You”, and “Always.”
