Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was confronted last Thursday about comments he previously made criticizing the singer Taylor Swift in which he alleged that she did not sing live. His response, or lack thereof, pretty much says it all!

Grohl Confronted About Swift Criticisms

A TMZ reporter confronted Grohl, 55, in Los Angeles about his dig at Swift, 34, earlier this year.

“A lot of people online thought your statements on Taylor not playing live weren’t fair,” the reporter stated. “Why do you think she doesn’t sing live?”

Grohl, however, wasn’t having any of it. He remained silent as he paused for a moment to look at the reporter as if she was crazy. He then continued walking and got into his vehicle.

Indeed, sometimes no response says more than any verbal response could!

Checkout the awkward exchange in the video below.

Grohl’s Previous Bashing Of Swift

This came after Grohl criticized Swift back in June during a Foo Fighters show.

“I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” he began.

“So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few […] errors as well. Just a couple,” Grohl continued. “That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right […] place.”

Swift Responds

This was a clear dig at Swift’s hugely successful Eras Tour, which was also in London at the time. She appeared to fire back during a concert of her own at London’s Wembley Stadium.

“Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s gonna be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much,” Swift said.

“And so does every one of my fellow performers,” she added. “And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it.”

Why Did Grohl Turn On Swift?

Groh’s comments about Swift were surprising, given the fact that he had publicly gushed over her in the past.

“I’m officially obsessed. She might want to get a restraining order because I’m all about Swift,” Grohl said in 2015. “To my opening band, Taylor Swift. Taylor and the Swifts.”

However, Grohl has since claimed that Swift’s devoted fanbase, known as Swifties, pushed his 18 year-old daughter Violet to delete her social media. In January of this year, Violet took to social media to criticize Swift for her use of private jets.

“Why can’t Taylor Swift just drive like everyone else,” she wrote.

Swifties came at Violet so hard that she deleted her accounts. It’s never been confirmed that this is what made Grohl turn on Swift, however.

Given the backlash that both Grohl and his daughter have received, it’s clear that Swift is not someone to be messed with these days. It’ll be interesting to see if Grohl explains his criticism of her further in the future.
